LUCEM

Objects of quiet presence

Lucem transforms fragments of antique home altars from Northern Portugal into contemporary sculptural pieces.

Worn wood, carved relics, and ornamental elements — once part of everyday devotion — are reimagined as freestanding or wall-mounted objects. Each piece is unique, composed with natural materials like steel, leather, and glass.

Not religious.
Still sacred.

Lucem pieces bring stillness and depth to modern interiors. They hold space. They tell no story, yet invite reflection.

One-of-a-kind, Unique. With a quiet kind of soul.

About Luc Roeland

Luc Roeland is an Amsterdam-born designer with a deep love for refinement, aesthetics, and material. Trained in both the arts and crafts, he works across disciplines — from interior design and food concepts to ceramics and object making.

His studio is based just outside Amsterdam, in Hoofddorp, where he creates quietly powerful pieces that blur the line between function and contemplation.

With Lucem, he transforms antique religious fragments — relics from home altars in Northern Portugal — into sculptural objects that resonate with stillness and soul.
